WARRICK ARES-RACES Update 6 2025

• AUXCOMM TRAILER Grant request process update: the “paperwork” has been sent to ARDC for a preliminary review (not by the approvers) so that we can adjust if needed before the final submission deadline.

 

• New meeting day discussion and decision:  After a fair amount of discussion, the group decided to meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month for future meetings.  We will review this after a few months to check for unexpected conflicts.  NEXT MEETING WILL BE JULY 15TH, 2025—AT THE 4H FAIRGROUNDS—- IT’S FAIR WEEK

 

• Field Day – June 28: Deployment location to be announced at 8am on June 28 via email and on the Boonville Repeater (147.075+, 88.5)

 

• July 5th / Newburgh Fireworks update:  we need 5 volunteers to staff positions at the fireworks event. Chris, Dennis, and Mike have volunteered… we still need 2 more.

 

• Radio Direction Finding (Fox Hunting) basics.  Bring your Fox Hunting equipment for group discussion: Yagi, Log Periodic, resonant loop antennas, attenuators and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) tracking devices were reviewed.  Fox Hunt scheduled for June 21, 2025…Check-in on the Boonville Repeater at 8am to find out what frequency the fox is on and begin the hunt… the fox hunt is open to everyone.

The Warrick County, Indiana ARES-RACES group meets on the third Tuesday of each month.  The meetings begin at 6:30pm and generally are completed by 9:00pm.  The meetings are held on the third floor of the Old Boonville Court House in the EMA Conference room.

Come out and visit with the members of the group and learn how Amateur Radio works with the community in times of emergencies and events.  The group has several events planned this year.  Check the link above for the monthly update.
